A generation to raise up and love, not debate. I agree with Paul that my pursuit of knowledge is primarily based on my need to get ahead of the next person. But, again, it was Jesus who taught us that there is no greater love than serving, laying down your life for each other. I guess the only problem with that is that the gospel is foolish, and to try and use it as the basis for an intellectual debate seems kind of outside the bounds of what it's for. Simple faith leads to the desire to better know our God, and I hope that that will be enough for me. Thank you for this post, b/c I struggle greatly with trying to get a greater head knowledge of Christ, and I think that that comes at the expense of a greater knowledge of his heart.
