In a few days…

Fall is one of my top four favorite seasons. In Oregon there are a lot of evergreens, but there are the occasional leafy trees that will change color. Our neighbors’ tree had a few yellow leaves on it a few days ago, but today it is bright red and orange.

It just reminds of how quickly things can change. I bet that after I get back from the coast on Thursday that the leaves will all have fallen on the ground. I love how change is just a part of nature and life. I actually feel bad for people who don’t see that change is necessary for growth…just my opinion…but I say give change a chance.

I love the changing seasons…and this weekend, I heard a beautiful thought from Dr. Wayne…

He was in a group that was on a hike through the forest and marveled at the changed colors of the leaves and just how beautiful they are. In that group hiking was a botanist and Wayne asked him why the leaves turned that color in the fall.

The botanist told him that the colors are always there…but that they were masked by the chemicals in them. In the fall…as it got colder…those chemicals would die leaving the leaves to show their true colors.

So many applications…seasons remind me now to think about my true colors in the cold and through changes…I wonder if I am as beautiful as those leaves.

    Peace.
