I came across this video on YouTube…This is obviously true as the story is carried by CNN. What do you think…

interesting…and somewhat disconcerting…
wow. seems to me that if you have to include retroactive immunity into a bill you know you might have done something wrong….
wowsers.
I’ve been following the story and this is not a completely honest view of the bill. Just because it’s on CNN does not mean it’s true. We know that the media is extremely biased, so be careful about what you take as fact. Research this issue for yourself before you pass judgment on anyone. President Bush is a Christian and is our brother. Be careful about passing judgment on anyone.
This is the usual CNN “bending act” when it comes to Republican’s.
What that speific provisio of the bill does is protect the Executive branch from politcal “cherry-picking” which is (unfortunately) so common in politics. While it does allow a window of “abuse” to prisoners, it more prevents political abuse by the opposing political party.
As we have seen, the Geneva Convention as been thrown up in the air by political interpretation - interpretation that has never been considered credible before. Should that certain party’s interpretation stand, regardless of whether it is abuse or not, a sitting President and his/her Administration could be called down for war crimes - all in the name of political opportunism, not facts-based truth.
So, while somewhat grey, it ultimately protects our system of government while ensuring that information is extracted from enemy combatants and thereby protecting American citizens around the world.
And that concludes the Nelson broadcast…tune in next week when we talk about the price of tea in China.
Dave! Calm down girlfriend. Also, I don’t think Justin was judging. Although judging is not right, it is ok to admit that a president, who happens to be a Christian, can be wrong in some things. Just my opinion!
