Remember the whole good vs. best thing in my last post? It’s a hard place to be in, but a good opportunity to seek God. Our answer? The owner of our current place said they wouldn’t lower the rent. So come October 6th we’re following God to the north. Have no clue where we’ll be, but we’re sure that this is a God thing. While we were in the States God put this move on our hearts…I even talked about it as if it were a sure thing…but getting back here the practical side of moving was really daunting…and then the offer from our landlord…it was almost as if our minds got in the way of following our hearts…shame on us! We (us all) do that too much huh?
The funny thing that this whole thing brought up was the timeless: What’s God’s will question. I’ve come to believe that God has one thing in mind for us…to know Him and go after Him…what we do or where we live in the meantime is our issue of doing the best we can to live out the kingdom of God where we are. Basically…God gave us wisdom for a reason…and He wants us to use it…but when all choices can be good ones…then we love God and do what we want! In our case the choice became limited, but I’m thankful for the soul-searching and God searching that these last few days held.
So we are actively seeking a new place in the north…and actively seeking where we can best uncover Jesus doing His thing. We’ve looked at a few places and liked two and loved one…but we can’t afford the one we love! Bummer! We’ll see where we end up…searching is the important part…and we already know where the right searching leads us…
