Since my last post I’ve done a bit of traveling. We left Portland and spent a few days in Cottage Grove Oregon. Jen’s relatives live there. It’s a small town and we spent most of our time visiting with family. On Christmas Day we drove to Sacramento…yes Christmas in the car. The good news is that there wasn’t a lot of traffic! We got in late Christmas and hung out at Christine’s place.
We had a great party the day after and got to see a lot of old friends. Our time in Sacramento was not nearly long enough to spend time with people we really wanted to hang out with. Amy and Jason drove up from SoCal and it was good that I at least got to spend good time with their family. The end our trip came in a hurry and I was a bit sad to leave…especially because I didn’t get good time with a few people that I wanted to…sorry Jeremy and Ryan…next time my friends.
Our trip home went by really fast….for a 16 hour trip. I slept probably a total of an hour and a half on the plane. Not nearly enough when flying through the night. I had Dan Brown to keep me entertained (thanks Christine) and great headphones to block out sound (thanks Amy and Jason).
All in all our trip was really good. Other than seeing people that I dearly love and missed, the best part was just letting my mind, soul, and body relax. Life is always in your face in Paris and you don’t get to come up for air often…our trip was like getting to sit on the shore for a while. I am so glad that God allowed us the time to refocus and reenergize. Now it’s back to the city…
